My Argument for Sustainability

I think sustainability is something we will need if we want a future. These are my reasons why: So future generations have a world, so we don’t run out of resources and so we don’t harm ourselves through/and the environment.

We want future generations to have a world to live in because you try imagining being forced to smoke 10 cigarettes every time you take a breath. Future generations won’t have to imagine it. The smoke from unsustainable practices would take the place of the cigarettes.
What we make and how we get rid of it is a problem because plastic takes 500 years to break up, tin takes 1000 years to break down completely and glass almost never breaks down and this all goes into a landfill meaning the land is unusable.
Leaving the world in this state, future generations will think we “cared” about them, satisfying our wants at their cost. That is why we need to care about sustainability.

My second point for why we should be sustainable is because we will run out of resources if we continue like this. In the last 30 years we have used a third of all our known resources. Today we have many sustainable potions that don’t tax the non- renewable resources

My third point is so we don’t harm ourselves through/and the environment. Say some bugs ate some of your corn and some fish ate the bugs and you ate the fish. Putting insecticide on the plant means the fish will go hungry because there are less bugs. There will be less fish which will make it will be harder to catch fish meaning we will have to find something else for dinner and the fish we do catch will properly contain poisons.

Being sustainable you won’t get some of the outcomes mentioned above. Trying to leave the world for future generations, attempting to use less non-renewable resources and not wrecking ecosystems to get top quality stuff are all noble quests on our attempt to be sustainable
